The Czech Republic was ranked first in the National Cyber Security index in 2019 among 131 countries.
The author of the rating is E-governance Academy. They evaluate how a country is prepared to respond to cyber threats and to defeat cybercrime.
The Czech Republic won in the following categories:
- Cybersecurity policy development
- Cyber threat analysis and information
- Education and professional development
- Protection of essential services
- Personal data protection
- Incidents response
- Fight against cybercrime
- Military cyber operations
At the same time e-identification, contribution to global security and cyber crisis management are areas for improvement.
It’s interesting that other countries on the top of the rating are Estonia, Spain and Lithuania, while Netherlands is at 9th, Germany is at 10th, UK is at 14th and USA is at 29th place.
